Junior League Partners with Literacy Volunteers to Combat Illiteracy

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – The Junior League of Buffalo recently selected Literacy Volunteers of Buffalo and Erie County as its new community project.

When the Junior League learned that one out of five residents in Erie County is functionally illiterate, it wanted to help and selected Literacy Volunteers for its signature project.

Junior League president Janice Worobec and Literacy Volunteers Executive director Tracy Diina discussed this project. Worobec says Literacy Volunteers was one of two finalist that presented a proposal.
