US Senator Charles Schumer

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – US Senator Charles Schumer played a key role in helping the Democrats win a majority of the seats in the Senate last Fall. Now in a new book, he's making the case on how the Democrats can build on that next year. If they handle it right, says Schumer, the Democrats could become the dominant party for years to come.

Senator Schumer has titled his book, "Positively American: Winning Back the Middle Class Majority One Family at a Time." Schumer, who steered his party to victory in November's election as chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, offers a plan on how the Democrats can recapture the middle class vote. He's now on a national tour promoting his book. On Saturday, he appeared at Border's Books in Cheektowaga for a book signing.

Senator Schumer joined us on the phone late last week to talk about "Positively American." Click the "listen" icon above to hear Mark Scott's interview now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod.
