Buffalo, NY – A fundraiser is planned to benefit wounded Buffalo Police Officer Patricia Parete. The event scheduled for March 31st at the Buffalo Convention Center was announced Tuesday during a news conference at the B District Station downtown.
Station Chief Donna Berry said fellow officers and friends of Officer Parete got the idea while waiting together after the shooting.
Mayor Byron Brown said the event reflects the spirit of support from the Buffalo community and dedication police officers have for each other.
Parete and her partner Officer Carl Andolina were wounded as they responded to a routine call December 5th.
Andolina will chair the fundraiser. He described Parete as a "hardworking individual with incredible passion and determination."
Parete remains hospitalized at the Erie County Medical Center.
