New Assemblyman Seeks Full, Two-Year Term

By Joyce Kryszak

Buffalo, NY – One of the more interesting local races this year is in the 142nd Assembly District. The seat had been held for several years by the late Sandra Lee Wirth. Following her death last Spring, a special election was held, and Michael Cole was elected as her successor. In Tuesday's general election, Cole is being challenged by Democrat Laura Monte.

WBFO interviewed both candidates. Mark Scott reached Assemblyman Cole as he was walking door-to-door, campaigning for votes. Click the "listen" icon above to hear the interview now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod.
