Seneca Casino Design Unveiled, County Drops Demolition Suit
By Mark Scott
Buffalo, NY – The Seneca Nation of Indians unveiled the design Thursday for its new casino in Buffalo.
Plans for the $125 million Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino call for a three-story gambling venue, plus an eight-story headquarters for the Seneca Gaming Corporation and a five-level parking garage. Seneca President Barry Snyder says the complex will be in a park-like setting with a synthetic creek running through it.
Demolition of the old HO Oats grain elevators continues to make way for the new casino.
Thursday, the Giambra administration announced it is dropping its lawsuit to stop the demolition after a State Supreme Court justice denied the county's request for a temporary restraining order. But County Attorney Laurence Rubin said the county will continue its air monitoring at the site and will take further legal action if warranted.
