Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Sabres won a wild one Wednesday night in the NHL Eastern Conference Finals, taking a 4-1 second period lead, and holding on for a 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Sabres coach Lindy Ruff says the team played hard.
"They had a really good night," Ruff said. "If we're going to win, they need to play like that. It was great to see. I thought the whole team really bounced back with a solid effort."
The Sabres now lead the series two games to one, with Game Four at HSBC Arena tomorrow night.
Sabres Defenseman Henrik Tallinder left the game late in the third period with an "upper body" injury, a further blow to the team's already depleted defensive unit.
