Buffalo, NY – The "Buffalo News" is accelerating its timetable for morning home delivery. Subscribers in Erie County will begin receiving a morning paper in early October, a few months sooner than originally planned.
News spokeswoman Dottie Gallagher-Cohen says the move to mornings was successfully completed this month for Niagara County subscribers.
"We did the Niagara County kick-off and it did so well, and it had such good consumer response, that we decided to accelerate our plans for Erie County," Gallagher-Cohen said. "So, instead of waiting until next March, we're going to do it in October.
"We just felt we had the formula to make it work, so why not take it to the market sooner if we could."
Gallagher-Cohen says the "News" will begin streamlining delivery routes next month. She says just a single edition from the morning will be available throughout the day at newsstands, retail stores and newspaper racks.
