Expert Advises Local School on Responding to Bullying

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Bullying occurs in all schools at every grade level. Sometimes it's benign. But more often than not, bullying can cause emotional damage.

One of the nation's leading experts on bullying appeared in the Buffalo area over the weekend to address his solution to the problem. Kim Payne has developed a novel approach he calls social inclusion. With his approach, an "open environment" is created where kids can talk freely without fear of retribution.

Payne is an educator, counselor and author who appeared at the Aurora Waldorf School on Saturday. Monday, WBFO's Mark Scott reached him on the phone to find out how parents, teachers and students reacted to his message.
