Former High School Guidance Counselor Admits to Possessing Child Pornography

Buffalo, NY – A former guidance counselor from Tonawanda High School pleaded guilty Wednesday to child pornography charges. Acting US Attorney Kathleen Mehletretter says James Sperduti, 43, of Buffalo admitted to possessing child pornography on his computer.
"At the time of the plea, the defendant admitted that he possessed between 150 and 300 images of child pornography," Mehltretter said. "Some of those images depicted children under 12."
Sperduti was a counselor at Tonawanda High School until March of this year. He faces up to ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sperduti is scheduled to be sentenced April 20th in Federal Court.
