NYSE Suspends Delphi Trading, Maziarz Says Company Unresponsive

By Joyce Kryszak

Lockport, NY – The New York Stock Exchange announced Tuesday that it has indefinitely suspended stock trading for the Delphi Corporation. Trading was discontinued as Delphi hit 36- cents on the Exchange, following the company's bankruptcy filing.

The de-listing is yet another blow for employees of the financially troubled auto parts supplier. Those who own stock are now left with an uncertain future for their investments, as well as their jobs and benefits.

State Senator George Maziarz represents Lockport where Delphi and many of its employees are located. Maziarz says officials are also being left in the dark.

"Every day, I contact Delphi management to let them know we're here. I know the Governor's office has contacted them, offering to be helpful," Maziarz said. "Quite honestly, we're being stonewalled. They're telling us this is an internal issue."

Maziarz says the rumor mill is leaving employees -- and officials -- fearful about the future.
