Buffalo, NY – Twenty-six arts and cultural groups in Erie County were awarded more than $370,000 in funding Thursday from a consortium of charitable foundations.
The funding is designed to help the groups cope with the loss of their county funding. Gail Johnstone of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, said the groups are taking greater control of their destinies.
Johnstone said five of the grants are for collaborative initiatives involving 13 organizations.
