Buffalo, NY – Erie County legislators face yet another deadline Tuesday. The County Legislature meets in a special session. But there is still no consensus on how they will deal with a $118 million deficit in the current year's budget. Legislature Chairman George Holt is pushing for an increase in the sales tax. Without a new source of revenue, Holt says the county will most certainly face the imposition of a state control board.
