Author Paul Loeb Shares His Thoughts on Civic Engagement

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Four years ago, representatives of Daemen College and Niagara University began working on a public service initiative that is known today as the Western New York Service-Learning Coalition. Now, all of the area's colleges and universities are engaging students and faculty in community service. Late last week, one of the nation's leading advocates of civic involvement came to the Buffalo area for a series of appearances.

Paul Loeb has spent more than 30 years researching and writing about citizen responsibility and empowerment. His latest book, "The Impossible Will Take a Little While," continues that theme.
