Bishop, Volunteers Gear Up for Catholic Charities Appeal
By Eileen Buckley
Buffalo, NY – Bishop Edward Kmiec appeared Sunday night at the annual Catholic Charities appeal dinner. More than 400 volunteers attended.
This year's appeal is scheduled for March 13 through the 20. Contributions are used to pay for a variety of human services in the eight county region of Western New York.
Kmiec says Catholic Charities reaches out to those in need.
"Catholic Charities has a wonderful network of services," Kmiec said. "I could stand here for an hour and telling you about it. But be assured there is a very personal outreach."
Kmiec says he is impressed by the past generosity in this community. This year's goal is $10.7 million.
