Pendleton, NY – Officials at a high school where 31 students fell ill decided to resume classes on Friday, after three days of environmental testing failed to turn up a cause.
Starpoint High School shut down Tuesday after the students complained of nausea, headaches and vomiting while rehearsing for a high school chorus concert in the auditorium.
An elementary school and junior high school on the same campus also were closed as a precaution.
Officials in the Niagara County district said Thursday that the results of numerous medical and environmental tests came back negative, suggesting the students may have become overheated.
About 100 students had been rehearsing for more than an hour when the first student told his teacher he felt ill.
