Sheriff's Deputy Struck by Car Outside Stadium

By Eileen Buckley

Orchard Park, NY – An Erie County Sheriff deputy was struck while on bicycle patrol at Ralph Wilson Stadium Sunday.

Deputy Carl Andolina was hit from behind by a car exiting a stadium lot following the Bills game. Sheriff deputies say the driver of the car, Ashley Appleton, 23, of Buffalo, was driving without her headlights on. She was arrested for DWI, but refused to take a sobriety test. Deputies say more charges are pending.

Andolina suffered only minor injuries. He was treated at ECMC and released.
