Buffalo, NY – Authorities Tuesday said a major gun ring was uncovered in the City of Buffalo.
The Erie County Sheriff's Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided on a home on Weber Street Tuesday.
They confiscated several types of handguns, drug materials and explosive devices that came from Ohio. Two people from Ohio and the Weber Street resident were arrested.
Chief Deputy Richard Donovan, with the Sheriff's department, said this will make a significant dent into the number of guns being sold on Buffalo streets.
"With the recent wave of violence, homicides and shootings in Buffalo, this cuts off a source coming from Ohio into Buffalo," said Donovan. "It is easier to obtain handguns in Ohio. Those guns were being used to commit crimes on our City streets. So this is a major dent in that operation."
Authorities said they acted on a tip. The three suspects are charged with felony weapons possession and various misdemeanors.
