HUD Official Promotes Fair Housing in Buffalo

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – A new study finds that most Americans who are victims of housing discrimination fail to report the incident. But housing advocates say they're not surprised by that.

The Fair Housing Act was created 36 years to protect people from being denied housing because of their race, religion or gender. Friday wraps up a month-long observance of fair housing, both here and across the nation. Earlier this week, Carolyn Peoples, the assistant secretary for fair housing and equal opportunity in the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, visited Buffalo.
