The Most Dreaded Monday of the Year

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Monday mornings have a bad rap. But today might very well be the most dreadful Monday of the entire year.

The holiday season is officially over. Children are putting aside the video games they received in favor of their math books. Adults are returning to their jobs and all the work that has been ignored for the past two weeks. And making matters worse, the Bills are not in the playoffs, the credit card bills for all those gift purchases will start arriving in the mail and there's at least two more months of winter ahead.

Nutritionists advise people to pack their lunches with fruits and vegetables today to help them get over the sugar high from all those holiday cookies. Since it's a new year, career counselors say now is the perfect time to prioritize where you want to go with your job. And financial experts say professional help is available for those who need help in managing their debt.

So, no more "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings." The slogan for this Monday morning is "let's get back to work."
