Buffalo, NY – A classic lake effect snowstorm is heading our way. The National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow warning for Cattaraugus and Chautauqua Counties, and a lake effect snow advisory for Wyoming and Southern Erie Counties.
Up to a foot of snow is possible in some areas.
Significant lake effect snow accumulations are expected south of the Buffalo metro area Monday and Tuesday. Up to a foot of snow is forecast for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties, where the National Weather Service has posted a lake effect snow warning from noon Monday until noon Tuesday.
Several inches of snow could fall in Wyoming and southern Erie counties, and a lake effect snow advisory will be in effect later Monday and into Tuesday.
