Theatre Review: Kavinoky's The Foreigner

By Grant Golden

Buffalo, NY – The Foreigner by Larry Shue is now on stage at the Kavinoky Theatre at D'Youville College through October 19th.

Two Englishmen arrive for a fishing trip in a small town in rural Georgia and quickly become the objects of local curiosity. When one, Charlie, falls silent because of his acute shyness, his friend, Froggy, pretends that he is the native of an exotic country and cannot understand English. In this hilarious and at times scathing expose of cultural differences, the local towns-people soon volunteer details of racial and sexual scandals that would have remained otherwise hidden to the tourists.
