C-Span Bus Visits Buffalo, Promotes Education

By Allison Ogorek

Buffalo, NY – A bright, yellow bus was parked alongside Niagara Square Tuesday. The C-Span School Bus made a day-long stop in Buffalo as part of a cross-country tour that aims to build awareness about the network's educational value.

C-Span spokeswoman Karla Morgan says that the bus tour targets middle and high school students, as well as TV production students.

"We use this bus as an educational tool," Morgan said. "This is basically a demonstration studio. We use it to visit schools throughout the school year mostly, which is why it's called the C-Span school bus. We educate students and teachers about C-Span programming, what C-Span is all about and how we're a little bit different."

C-Span, which stands for the Cable Satellite Public Affairs Network, is supported by the cable and satellite industry. The channel specializes in showing live events that take place in Washington, including sessions from the House and Senate.
