Buffalo, NY – A reported bomb threat closed the Peace Bridge for more than three hours Tuesday evening.
Peace Bridge Authority official Tony Braunscheidel says the FBI received a phoned-in bomb threat from a "credible source." Dogs examined the bridge and the marine patrol searched the water, but nothing was found.
The closure caused serious traffic backups on both sides of the border. Back-ups were also reported at the Lewiston-Queenston and Rainbow Bridges, where the cross-border traffic was diverted.
The Peace Bridge reopened around 8:45pm.
