A Conversation with John Pizzarelli

By Joyce Kyrszak

Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra teamed up with the Guitar Festival for a special treat Sunday. On stage at Kleinhans was the charming crooner and jazz guitarist, John Pizzarelli. He paid tribute to his inspirational hero, Nat King Cole.

Pizzarelli inherited plenty of instrumental talent from his dad, jazz legend Bucky Pizzarelli. But John wanted more. The jazz guitarist also sings with the same timeless devotion to melody as some of his all time heroes. John says singers like Rosemary Clooney, Frank Sinatra - and Nat King Cole - set the standard for a new generation of crooners.
