Buffalo, NY – The top brass of the Buffalo Police Department says this week's traffic checkpoints on heavily-traveled roads in the city were a public relations nightmare. But a top PR practitioner in Buffalo says that doesn't seem to matter to the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association.
Despite PBA claims to the contrary, this week's checkpoints were clearly aimed at city officials who are appealing an arbitrator's ruling giving officers a four-and-a-half percent pay raise. The trouble was, the public was caught in the middle.
