Clinton Seeks Release of Funds for "First Defenders"

By Mark Wozniak

Buffalo, NY – Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was in Buffalo Sunday, renewing her call for federal aid for fire and police agencies to fight terrorism.

During a visit to the Virginia Street fire station, the New York Democrat called on the Bush administration to release $1.5 billion to so-called "first defenders."

Clinton also stopped by the Tifft Nature Preserve, promising to push for federal funding to help develop the Buffalo waterfront.
