Niagara Falls, NY – The Seneca Niagara Falls Gaming Corporation opens a casino employment center Tuesday. It will be located at the Rainbow Center in Niagara Falls.
The gaming corporation says it plans hire close to 2,000 employees for the Falls casino slated to open New Year's Eve. President and CEO of the corporation, Mickey Brown, says the center will serve as an application processing center and training site for casino jobs.
"We'll have management from each of the different departments, table games, slots, finance -- all available to spot interview people if possible," Brown said. "In an adjoining room we are opening our training center for black jack, crapes and roulette."
Brown says more than 200 members of the Seneca Nation applied for the casino work at job fairs held this past weekend. He says another 100 Native Americans from other tribes also applied.
Now jobs are opened to the general public. Brown says a diverse pool of individuals have applied so far and he's confident they will be able to put together a "very good" operating team for the Falls casino.
