NY Senators Seek Extension of Unemployment Benefits

By Mark Wozniak

Washington, DC – New York's two senators have joined with other Democrats in asking the Bush administration to extend unemployment benefits.

A bill introduced by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton would extend benefits by 20 weeks in hard-hit states, and 13 weeks in other states.

The Democrats are asking the president to focus on the economy the same way it is working on national security.
