Buffalo, NY – The field of candidates to lead the Erie County Democratic Party has narrowed to two, as deputy county clerk Kenneth Kruly has withdrawn his name from consideration.
The Buffalo News reports Kruly is now giving his support to former County Legislature chairman Leonard Lenihan, who still faces a challenge from James Keane, former aide to Senator Hillary Clinton.
Support for current party chairman Steven Pigeon is eroding.
Top party leaders have been meeting this week to discuss the party's future. Keane says he has been excluded from those meetings.
