Ontario, Ca. – It appears that a bid to purchase the Buffalo Sabres National Hockey League franchise is imminent.
Sherry Bassin, who owns and operates the Erie Otters franchise of the Ontario Hockey League, is leading the group, and he has reportedly asked Utica businessman Frank DuRoss to join him.
The team's value is estimated at between 90 and 115 million dollars.
Bassin said if his group buys the team, it will stay in Buffalo.
The NHL has been operating the Sabres since owner John Rigas's financial troubles began.
