Buffalo, NY – The Erie County District Attorney's office has submitted a request to obtain new DNA samples from James Kopp and to put him into a police lineup.
The Buffalo News reported Friday that Kopp's legal counsel is objecting, saying that since his picture was widely seen in the news media after he was named a suspect in the slaying of Dr. Barnett Slepian, the lineup won't be fair.
The DA wants to compare current DNA samples with evidence collected in the wake of the Slepian slaying.
