Actor Jim Carrey

By Mark Wozniak

Buffalo, NY – Hollywood may be paying another visit to Western New York soon.

Universal Pictures is considering Buffalo as a site to film a comedy called "Bruce Almighty", in which Jim Carrey will portray a man in charge of the world for 24 hours.

Location scouts have made several visits here, and filming could begin this summer.

The movie will be produced and directed by Tom Shadyac, whose film credits include the Carrey movies "Liar, Liar" and "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective."

Buffalo has been used for the filming of numerous movies and television shows over the past two decades, including Robert Redford's "The Natural" in the early 1980s.
