Car Talk®
Saturday at 6AM and 10AM

Your car questions are welcomed, at 1-888-CAR-TALK (1-888-227-8255).
Car Talk Car Talk® is hosted by Peabody Award winners Tom and Ray Magliozzi, better known to their listeners as "Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers" - monikers taken from the clickety-clack sound of aging automobiles. Car Guys On the show, the brothers freely dispense expert car advice to callers, along with assorted wisecracks in the broad accents of their native East Cambridge Massachusetts neighborhood.

This humorous program is about much more than car repair. The Associated Press advises listeners to tune in the Magliozzis and "...hear them bicker and discourse on the theory of relativity, child rearing, music - and occasionally, cars." You're also invited to try and win a prize (likely some cheap junk) on the weekly puzzler.

In January 1987, the Magliozzis began to reach a broad audience when host Susan Stamberg asked them to be weekly contributors to NPR's Weekend Edition®. To the shock and bewilderment (and later, delight) of many program directors, Car Talk premiered nationally later that year and quickly became one of NPR's most popular programs.

If you have RealAudio© capabilities, you can hear highlights of Car Talk on your computer. And, Tom and Ray are also the authors of a weekly newspaper column.

Car Talk is heard by almost 3 million listeners each week on NPR member stations nationwide, including WBFO, and internationally through America One, Armed Forces Radio, and USEN 440. Car Talk is produced by Dewey, Cheetham, and Howe and WBUR in Boston. Doug Berman is the series producer.
