About Dick Judelsohn
Starting in 1976, Dick has been the producer and host of BeBop & Beyond (originally titled Modern Jazz: the 1st Twenty Years). Each one hour program—Sunday evening at 8 PM—is a mixture of music and information. Most shows focus on an artist, but sometimes a jazz style or event will be explored in detail. Besides choosing the best and most representative recordings, Dick provides a wealth of detail that enhances the enjoyment of listeners.
Through his experience as a jazz disk jockey, Dick has met and developed friendships with scores of jazz musicians, further expanding his ability to program and explain the music. He’s “first call” as an MC in jazz clubs and concerts, and is on a select list of national jazz broadcasters to preview new CD releases.
When not preparing and broadcasting on air, Dick is a physician at Buffalo Pediatric Associates and Medical Director at the Erie County Department of Health.
