About Chris Jamele
Chris Jamele has worked in local radio for more than a decade, beginning as the overnight jazz host at WECK before becoming the weekend primetime host and weekday drive time fill-in. After a hiatus from the airwaves, Chris joined WBFO in 2001 as the local host for Weekend Edition. He can also be heard during Car Talk, Only a Game, Fresh Air Weekend, and reporting news stories and feature pieces for WBFO. He is honored to be affiliated with the award winning WBFO news team and is thoroughly enjoying his experience in Public Radio.A lifelong passion for radio enlivens Chris’s happy return to the studio each weekend. He finds breaking the dawn with the Western New York community and waking listeners with the day’s news and information to be a tremendous pleasure. Chris enjoys the challenge of compiling, writing, editing and announcing the day’s pertinent news items while engaging with what he believes to be some of radio’s most interesting and entertaining weekend programming.
When not at WBFO, Chris stays busy with a number of endeavors. He is self-employed with Jamele Freelance Services, a business that caters to the writing and voiceover needs of its customers. The company has done work for Xerox International, Independent Nursing Care, The University at Buffalo Dental School, Buffalo Tours, Configuration Dance Theatre, and numerous other clients. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Game Winning Graphics, Inc. (www.GameWinningGraphics.com), a company that designs and markets sports related games. Working as a bartender three days a week, Chris welcomes you to visit him at the Casa di Pizza.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys writing, riding his motorcycles, camping, regaling with friends and family, and traveling. His community service includes assisting with the Parkinson’s Association of Western New York.
Chris is a graduate of Buffalo State College, earning a master’s degree in English and a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
