Sunday, March 4th: Reflections. A Choral Concert.  The Buffalo Choral Arts Society, under the direction of Marcia A. Saturday, March 10th: Fight for Air Climb. The Fight for Air Climb is a unique event open to all fitness levels. Individuals and teams race, run, or walk up 40 floors to reach the top of the HSBC center. Climb with us to help a child suffering from asthma. Friday, March 16th: Handbag Happy Hour.
The Handbag Happy Hour showcases premier designer, celebrity, distinctive and "previously loved" purses for live and silent auction. It is a fun and fashionable way to raise crucial funds to help underserved women in our community. 6pm at Salvatore's Italian Gardens, 6461 Transit Rd, Depew. March 23rd & 24th: Snowflake Basket Auction.
Niagara Cerebral Palsy invites the community to our 3rd Annual Snowflake Basket Auction. There is no admission fee to the basket auction which offers a wide assortment of baskets, gift certificates, and premium item raffle.  Food will be available for purchase on both days. Turkish paper marbling is a centuries old technique which floats colors on liquid in guided and random patterns and transfers to paper. techniques allow for experimentation and instant results yet much practice to fully master. Tuesday, March 20th: WNY Native Belva Lockwood - Trailblazer for Women's Leadership. Learn about the courageous and feisty woman who ran for president of the United State in 1884, was the first woman admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court, and was inducted into the National Woman's Hall of Fame. Talk by Maryann Saccomando Freedman, First woman president of the Erie County Bar Association and NYS Bar Association. Free and open to the public. CurbSide Croft, the all-natural urban farm on Buffalo's West Side, is back for its second season. The philosophy is the same - provide organically grown produce to the immediate neighborhood with a focus on varietals specific to cultural cuisines of West Side community members - but the hours are expanded! Stop by the corner of West Ave. and Vermont St. Monday through Friday 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays 12-3 p.m. for fresh, picked-to-order produce. Cash and food stamps accepted. Don't forget to support the sustainable operation by bringing your own bag.

Upward Bound Program at UB. The Upward Bound Program at UB is recruiting 8th Graders who will be attending target high schools in the City of Buffalo in 2011 - 2012. Upward Bound is seeking strong students with college aspirations. Upward Bound offers courses in the fall and spring terms at UB's South Campus, a 6 week long summer program on UB's North Campus, culturally-enriching activities and fieldtrips, college tours, SAT and ACT prep, assistance with college admissions forms and scholarship applications, and monthly stipends  & bus passes for students who are active in the program.
