Govindan Kartha has been a "record store guy" since the age of 18. He worked at a local record store for 3 years before founding New World Record, which he operated for the next 24 years, and which won numerous local awards and praise as Buffalo's best record store. The store closed in May 2008, and Govindan is thrilled to be able to continue spreading his enthusiasm and love for music with his new show on WBFO's Music on the Border.

Govindan's show will have a weekly topic, in which a theme will be traced out, be it lyrical, musical, ethnographic, or whatever fool idea comes into his head. Should be good fun, and he welcomes ideas for future shows.

Tuesdays

Critt’s soul, funk, and jazz show takes a Juke Joint approach. Eric says: "With the old skool Juke Joint, you had people of all styles gettin' together to swing, dance and shout. That's what I'm going for with my show except I substitute songs, grooves and feels for the people....in essence. I rarely use a script and I play what I feel at the moment - that's the jook joint way and that's the Buffalo way. Peace."
