Some of her duties around the station include managing the WBFO web site and e-newsletter, arranging sponsorships of local cultural events, and working in the underwriting department to increase Buffalo Niagara's corporate and cultural awareness and support of WBFO.

Kara received her BA in English at UB. Before pursuing her love of reading and writing, she was fulfilling her passion for music as a Music Theory and Piano Performance major at SUNY Fredonia.

Also a freelance web designer, Kara actively reduces her carbon footprint through vegetarianism. Kara and her husband Jonathan have a 4-year old daughter, Zoe, and a 2-year old son, Zachary (also vegetarians).
